About The Exploratorium
The Exploratorium originally was located at the famous Marina attraction, The Palace of Fine Arts. After the Exploratorium was relocated to its new home at the Embarcadero, it has become The City’s preeminent cultural and educational institution.
The Exploratorium houses the cultured historical past of San Francisco. The Exploratorium has 45 years worth of knowledge to share with its visitors. You can learn from the historical artifacts and know more about the history of San Francisco. This Museum also houses lots of art, science, and exhibits that stretch human perception. The Museum features works and knowledge sharing from famous entrepreneurs, inventors, scientists, artists, and educators from the past and present.
The Exploratorium also has a research facility in which people, regardless of being a child or an adult can participate. The Museum showcases the life sciences including physical phenomena (such as light, motion, electricity, waves and resonance, and magnetism), highlighting the local S.F. Bay Area environment (water, wind, fog, rain, sun, and other elements, as well as cityscape, landscape, and the flora and fauna of the Bay) and human behavior (such as cooperation, competition, and sharing).
The exhibits at The Exploratorium are based on art machinery and science. But some of them, made in its own laborites are of such uniqueness that they blur the line between art and machinery. Tickets are $29.95 for Adults, $24.95 for Seniors, and $19.95 for Youth. Children under age 3 can explore for free.
There is a food court also located within the facility that offers fare such as burgers, fries, pizza and many other fast foods.
The Exploratorium is open from 10:00 AM in the morning till 5:00 PM in the evenings. It, however, closes on special days like New Year and the Christmas. Learn more at: https://www.exploratorium.edu/
